about

Imagine a tranquil blend of Eva Cassidy, Slowdive, and European ballads from the last century, and you start meandering your way towards ‘The Move’ - the fifth single from emerging artist and environmental architect, DUEL NATIVE. Romantic, chilled, and melancholy all at once, this alt-pop duet sparkles with simplicity.

The song - published by UK indie label The Animal Farm - is about the unspoken exchange between two lovers who have parted.

‘ I wrote ‘The Move' in a dream. That sounds strange, I know, but that’s what happened. In the dream, I was in a late night lounge bar, maybe somewhere in Las Vegas (not that I’ve ever been there) - and a woman was on stage singing this song to her lover. They had planned to move from his home country to hers. She had left first. Months later, he still hadn’t followed her. It turns out - he never did.’

lyrics

#VERSE
I could talk about the move
I could talk about the move

#CHORUS
But you
It would only break you
But you
It would only break you

#VERSE
We could talk about the moon
We could talk about the moon

#CHORUS
But you
It would only break you

#VERSE
We could talk about the move
(We could talk about the moon)
We could talk about the move
(We could talk about the moon)

#CHORUS
But you
It would only break you
But you
You don't wanna know
